Description
The Pokémon False Red Redux project aims to make the psychological horror ROMhack of the same name better. Changes include improving the dialogue, simplifying the dungeons (since Red has already explored them), and adding a new postgame story involving a mountain in Johto.
Story
You assume the role of a boy named Fire who finds himself in Kanto. Red has been missing for a few years, likely atop Mt. Silver. The absence of Red has left Kanto and Johto grieving, with many turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as alcohol and gambling.
Fire’s appearance and journey closely parallel Red’s, sparking resentment from the people of Kanto and Johto who believe he’s mocking their loss by mimicking Red’s actions. Few individuals extend kindness towards him.
Blue harbors the most intense anger and aims to thwart Fire, intending to then search for the real Red.
