Description
Pokémon Yume 夢 is an enhancement hack of Pokémon Red and Blue built on the pokered disassembly. It enriches the originals with improved gameplay balance, greater Pokémon accessibility, and carefully integrated additions that feel like they were always part of the game. Above all, it preserves the charm and spirit of the classics.
夢 (Yume), meaning dream, represents a return to Kanto where memory and reimagination merge. Loosely inspired by the anime, manga, and later Pokémon generations, Yume offers expanded storylines, new areas, and subtle cultural details that highlight the games’ Japanese roots.
Features
- Catch ’em all! All original 151 Pokémon are available through natural gameplay.
- Play as Red or Green. Adventure as a girl or a boy.
- Revisit Kanto. Explore new areas like the Cinnabar Volcano, the Saffron Pokémon Academy, Celadon Grove… and even an all-new Mandarin Island!
- Expanded Postgame. New quests, Elite Four rematches, Gen 2 tie-ins, a restored Prof. Oak battle, and more!
- Mew quest. A proper storyline leading to the Mythical Pokémon.
- Quality-of-life improvements. Running shoes, bigger bag space, easier HM usage, experience bars, repel reuse prompts, a move deleter, and much more.

Gameplay Updates
Moves
- Several moves reworked to improve viability while keeping the original feel. Three moves from later generations added.
- Consult the complete list of move changes for more info!
- Ghost is now a Special type, and Dragon is now a Physical type.
- Fixed Focus Energy and Dire Hit so they now correctly quadruple critical hit rate instead of lowering it.
Learnsets
- Pokémon learnsets updated to give more options while keeping Gen 1 authenticity.
- The new learnsets can be consulted in this file.
- Stone and trade evolutions can continue learning moves.
Battles
- Updated type match-ups: Ghost is super effective against Psychic, and Bug is not very effective against Poison.
- Fixed badge boost glitch and the Leech Seed/Toxic exploit.
- Gym Leaders’ and Elite Four members’ Pokémon now have better movesets.
- Some Gym Leader teams slightly adjusted while keeping their core theme.
- Rival now has a more varied team that reflects his storyline.
- New trainers added to both new and existing areas, including some from the anime.
- Gym Leader and Elite Four rematches with stronger teams and movesets.
- New Battle Hall with random 3v3 battles.
Wild Encounters
- Wild Pokémon encounters reworked to increase variety and make more species available earlier.
- For full details (spoilers!), see the files for wild encounters on each map and their probabilities.
- All fishing rods are obtainable earlier than in the original games.
- Fishing encounters completely redesigned for levels and diversity.
- For full details (spoilers!), see the files for the Old rod, Good rod and Super rod.
- Pokédex “Area” feature now shows Land, Surf, and Fishing encounters separately.
- New NPC gives you the Mt. Moon fossil you did not choose.
- Either Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan can be obtained from a new NPC before the Elite Four.
Version Differences
The differences between versions are small.
- Version-exclusive Pokémon are now handled through rarity instead of complete exclusivity. For example, Oddish is more common in Red, while Bellsprout is more common in Green/Blue. Green version shares the same encounter tables as Blue.
- Other original differences remain:
- Game Boy Color palettes: Red/Green for Red, Green/Red for Green, Blue/Red for Blue.
- Game Corner slots: Different visual designs.
- Super Game Boy: Different border graphics.
Unless you want an easier hunt for a specific version-exclusive Pokémon, you can just pick whichever color you prefer.

Can you update to v1. 1 release thank you 👍
No colours on the Blue or Green versions that I downloaded. Played through Delta Emulator.
It looks like Sabastian aint got no colour no more 🤣🤣🤣 😏😏😏
Is there a reason mine isn’t in color when I play
skill issue?
skill issue.
I have a question regarding the EXP Share. Where do i even find it? Because i do NOT want to collect 50 pokemon just to get it on route 15 from the Oak’s aide.
That’s what I had to do to get it lol
It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been on the site!!! I think it’s been at least like the entirety of the Summer so far! And I might also have been away from it at least from the day of the Switch 2 presentation, somewhere around there?
Glad to see It’s still alive and kickin! I was hopin some of my fellow Pokémon fans could lemme know of some good games I could play! Mostly romhacks, but some fangames are welcomed. Just trying to save space on my PC. My Pokémon boxes and item storage are just so full! 😅 lol
I’m lookin for…. stuff that’s interesting, original, fresh, you know. Got at least decent story, isn’t super super high difficulty, good dexes that aren’t jampacked with areas that have like 20 different encounters in just the grass lol, and good character designs, including those of the male and female protags as well. And I think last but not least, if it has new designs of Pokémon, new megas, regional forms or other types of new forms, etc etc xyz, or new gimmicks, I just ask that they look good, like stuff that would be in a Pokémon game, or could have been. Like in the older generations, the good ol’ days. Or another universe you feel me? And being implemented well is important too. I don’t like mega evolution being a permanent thing for the most part.
Mostly, I wanna be immersed!
It would be helpful if the games are posted here on the site, but not required I suppose, as long as it’s good and meets the requirements! Anything from the last I wanna say 3 to 5 months? I’ve been focusin my free time during that time frame on one mobile game, a couple games on my Switch/Switch 2 (that new DK Bananza thoeee 👀 so fun) and a few on my PC, mainly Marvel Rivals lol yeh I’m hooked 😆) so had no time for fangames and the like. Btw how yall been? Surviving the summer? It’s been so hot, at least where I’m at. It’s like you gotta run the AC all day, and those bills add up! Nah I’m playing its not that bad
Just please tell me there have been some hits you guys. I need somethin new!
Finally, please keep it to yourself if it has any politics or drama or gender ideology bs, like any of that real world nonsense. I’m here to enjoy the video game experience, not be told this man with a beard think he a woman and have everyone in the story seem to just go along with it without even questioning it, or worse try to shame the player for not agreeing with this cult ideology, I’m just not here for that and I know it’s plagued the Pokémon communities and so many others in gaming. Big no thanks. Appreciate you. You wanna enjoy those games, be my guest, but that’s not my cup of tea or cup of joe or anything of the sort, and I’m not one to have things forced on me, is all. And it always is in these games, or in localizations of official games. That’s neither here nor there. I don’t wanna have to say this but, I also don’t wanna get blindsided by it and have it ruined when I thought it was getting good. Rather not even touch those games to begin with.
Just recommend me some fire 🔥 😉 free of the bullshit
God bless, and cheers. 🥂
BTW I forgot to add, but anything good that’s also been updated in that time works too! chances are I have them and need to update them anyways! But I have so many downloaded, no idea where to start and it’d be a lot to check them individually lol
