Description

You are an aspiring scientist tasked with investigating the marshlands to locate dytiscidae, commonly known as the diving beetle. You’ll encounter peculiar characters and unravel a plot revolving around this vital species.

You gotta talk to all the beetles for the ending! I’ve got something more involved planned for release, but that’s still in the oven.

Features

  • Facts and statistics rooted in research.
  • Custom sprites made by me! Including scientific diagrams!
  • Unique events to interact with the diving beetles
  • New maps made with the FireRed tileset.

Length

The game is approximately 10 minutes long. That’s how long it was meant to be but it’s hopefully full of fun features to enjoy!

Known Bugs/Issues

  • Failing to run from the Tadpole or Fish boss fight and then dying will cause a soft-lock.
  • Player reflections are missing in puddles that share the same tile as tree tips.
  • One NPC’s dialogue slightly overflows the textbox, and their text color is inconsistent.
  • The Larvae and Dytiscid currently only have a back and front sprite, respectively, due to time constraints.
