Description
Pokemon Amethyst features a new story in the new Kulure region, with an emphasis set on feeling familiar yet new. As you adventure, you’ll discover rare Pokemon, face challenging battles, and strive to become the next Unbeatable Champion.
This game is built from CFRU and as such contains many of it’s core enhancements (fairy type, physical/special split, expanded Pokedex, Mega evolution, etc.).

This is the first romhack I’ve ever made! I’ve put a lot of care into the development of this game and, while I think I’ve done pretty well, you may encounter the odd bug. Rest assured, it is fully playable from start to finish!

Hard Mode
Version 1.0 shipped with a Casual and Standard mode (which are functionally the same from a difficulty standpoint), but had no Hard mode. This was implemented after release as an customization option when starting a new game. In this mode, the following changes occur:
- All boss trainers (i.e. rivals, gym leaders, Pluto admins, etc.) now have teams with:
- Higher levels (typically with half the team gaining +1/+2 levels)
- An additional Pokemon
- Held Items (with the exception of Kaito)
- Better moves, if applicable (but still within reason)
- Better AI
- The hard level cap is enforced
As of v1.1.1, hard level caps are now not strictly enforced in Hard Mode, to support players who want the enhanced teams without hard level cap restrictions.
Underground Mining Minigame
The underground mining minigame popularized by Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum is introduced to Pokemon Amethyst in the 1.1.0 release. This minigame is accessible via a hiker added to Ferrox Village, and introduces 2 new game stats:
- The number of times the player has mined
- The number of items players have found while mining
This minigame can be played for free if the player has the ADM (Advanced Digging n’ Diving Machine) which can be obtained in the postgame or in Casual mode. If the ADM is not obtained, it will instead cost $1,000. This allows players to enjoy the minigame early on without being able to abuse it (unless they’re very skilled and get lucky spawns).
