Description
Pokemon Crystal Inheritance is a time-traveling adventure through Johto! In a twist on the classic Pokemon experience, instead of collecting badges to become champion, you unite Johto against a dark force threatening its future.
Use your knowledge of the world to craft pokéballs from new apricorns, discover Hisuian and Ancestor forms of Johto Pokémon, and explore Johto like never before. In historic Johto, you’ll see the power-hungry Emperor Mejimi and his generals Bobesh, Kensey, and Adrinna use a crisis to consolidate power. In modern Johto, you’ll confront Johto’s wayward gym leaders as they wonder how to cope with a changing world.

Not long after, you’ll find a fish enthusiast whose breath is keeping him from making friends in a new town. The NPCs will alert you with an emote when you enter their building. The trade quest was inspired by the trade quest for the Master Sword in the Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.

Hidden Palette System
Crystal Inheritance features a unique Hidden Palette System that allows certain Pokemon to appear with alternate color palettes. If a Pokemon has the maximum possible DVs for a specific Hidden Power type, it will display the palette associated with that type.
To help players obtain these special palettes, six NPCs throughout the game can optimize the DVs of one of your Pokemon. Many major boss trainers also use Pokemon with unique Hidden Palettes, making them stand out in battle.
Wild Pokemon can naturally appear with Hidden Palette DVs as well, but they are exceptionally rare—roughly 128 times rarer than a standard Generation 2 Shiny Pokemon.
Expanded Apricorn Crafting System
Crystal Inheritance expands the classic Apricorn crafting system with several new materials, including Hollow Rock, Fixed Charge, Tough Leaves, Shore Foam, and Radiant Opal, alongside the original Pink and White Apricorns.
These materials can be crafted into a variety of new Poké Balls designed to improve catch rates against specific Pokémon types. For example, the Deci Ball is especially effective against Electric-types, the Geode Ball works best on Rock-, Steel-, and Ground-types, and the Jeze Ball excels at catching Dark-, Psychic-, and Fairy-types.
